Ceramics of Picasso by Georges Ramié

Picasso’s ceramics are more compelling to me than most of his paintings. Ceramics are a medium I am deeply drawn to, I love seeing an artists’s clear POV like Picasso’s unleashed onto an earthenware form. He crated just over 600 pieces in his lifetime with Madoura Pottery Studio in France that incorporated Picasso’s signature animals, faces, and errant forms. I have this wonderful book with photographs of his pieces that I flip through from time to time to get my creative brain moving again.

He began ceramics after the second world war, and continued soon up until his death. I found these prints of his ceramics from a 1948 edition chronicling his work at Madoura Pottery Studio, famously owned by Georges and Suzanne Ramié.
